All right all right! loosing weight…it’s important for moped as well as humans (it depends though).
Some of you, GET users might have noticed that the original Acid Lead batteries are fairly small (113 x 70 x 105 mm or 4.4×2.75×4.13 inch) but quite heavy…about 2.1 Kg or 4.6 Pounds. For a mere 50cc every pointless weight it’s a real pain!
I’ve found on internet this 13.2V 4.6Ah Lithium battery with impressive size and weight:
68x52x66mm for 700gr (4.9×2.0x2.59inch for 1.54pounds)!!
there’s actually a smaller version that its just 0.66 pounds but with just 2.5Ah….I was suggested not to get that small.
In one year I’ve recharged it once. Now it’s almost two years and it runs just perfectly. The GET engine keep it well charged.
Full charged in just an hour!
Price: 100$ more or less
SEE HOW SMALL COMPARED TO THE STOCK BATTERY!
1. Save 1.7Kg or 3.7 Pounds!
2. Save space (you’ve extra room…may be to place a performance CDI or whatever you want)
3. It comes with a quick release wiring ….but isn’t that necessary since it never get discharged!
CONS: 34euro (stock battery) VS 90euro for the Lithium.
Overtimes the plastic covering the lithium batteries tends to get harder. I would recommend to wrap it up with insulating tape
SUPER IMPORTANT NOTES – UPDATES!
The lithium battery you see in the picture suddenly stopped working. The producer don’t even reply to my emails anymore. He even argued about my one star rating and pushed me to changed it to a positive rating. Once I did what pleased him he stopped giving me any email support or considering a refund. I did even bought a dedicated specific recharger from his store to make sure the battery would have lasted longer than a lead acid.
Eventually I bought one from a Chinese store. Bigger capacity at the same price of this Italian battery, and good A123 lithium battery.
If you need with a private message I’ll tell you where I bought it.
